CRESTFIELD a field guide to leaving

About

About Crestfield

Crestfield is a field guide to leaving — a small, permanent collection of writing about quiet retreat and the art of being unreachable.

We keep to four subjects: cabins and hideouts, the forest, cold water, and the practice of switching off. The pieces are meant to be read slowly, ideally somewhere with no signal. There is no news here and nothing to book — only places to imagine going and ways to be, for a while, genuinely elsewhere.

Everything is written to last. You will find no dates, no urgency and no notifications. Read one piece, close the laptop, and go quietly.

Colophon

Crestfield is a set of plain, self-contained pages: no trackers, no external scripts, no fonts fetched from anywhere, nothing to load but words and a little weather. The type is a bookish serif your own machine already carries. The mist is drawn locally, and stays out of the way of the reading.
