Middle School Retreat
Crestfield
November 16 - 17, 2007
"Traveling Together on our Journey of
Discipleship"
join us for fellowship. join us for growth. join us for
discipleship. at this retreat, we will travel together on our
journey of faith and explore what we need to take with us. We will
be challenged to take a step towards deeper commitment to Jesus
Christ. and of course, there will be lots of fun with hay rides,
swamp ball, campfires, the climbing wall, hiking, six square, and a
lot more.
So come.
Relax. Have fun. And expect the Spirit to blow some fresh air
through your soul at the 2007 Middle School Retreat.
Keynote Speaker:
Derrick Weston,
mission advancement manager at The Pittsburgh Project. Derrick is a
native of Southwest PA who studied film at the University of
Pittsburgh. He received his Masters of Divinity from San Francisco
Theological Seminary and is currently in the ordination process with
PIttsburgh Presbytery. Derrick and his wife, Marnie, have been
married four years.
Who is invited?:
If you are in grades 6-8, we want
you to be at Crestfield for this retreat. Whether you are
Presbyterian, Lutheran, or Church of the Other Denomination - you
belong at Crestfield.
What:
The Middle School
Retreat. What else is this page about?
Where:
Crestfield Camp and Conference Center - in good ole' Slippery Rock, PA,
about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh.
When:
Registration will begin at 7:00pm on Friday night of the retreat, and
last until after dinner on Saturday.
Why:
To experience fellowship, relaxation, an exciting weekend devoted to
Jesus Christ.
How:
Registration is designed for the youth pastor or leader to do all of the
paperwork for the group. (*Participants will need a signed health form
by the parent or guardian.) Registration is available by telephone or
by mailing in the registration form from the
brochure.
The Technical
Stuff:
Cost:
The cost is based on lodging accommodations: Cabins are $50 per
participant. The Main Lodge rooms (dormitory style lodging) is $70 per
participant. Scott Lodge rooms (hotel style, private bath) are $80 per
participant with 3-5 people in a room, including 1 adult. This includes
all meals, lodging, and programming. Just bring a few extra dollars
for items at the Camp Store.
Chaperones: The minimum chaperone
to participant ratio is 1:8 of each gender. (For example, a church with
4 female participants and 4 male participants will require 2 chaperones
-- 1 male and 1 female chaperone.) Leaders and chaperones will be
responsible for the behavior of their youth. If you need chaperones for
your group, contact Becky Little about hiring a chaperone or two!
Crestfield will provide staffing required for all other programming,
allowing youth leaders and chaperones the opportunity to build
relationships with their youth.
Cost
and Refunds: The cost is based on lodging accommodations and
includes all meals, lodging, and programming. There is a $15 dollar
non-refundable deposit per each participant due at the time of
registration. A bill for the remainder of your fees will be mailed upon
confirmation, and is due at the time of arrival to the retreat. If a
participant has registered, but is not able to attend, a refund (minus
the deposit) is available by writing a letter explaining the request for
a refund.
