Times change. Paradigms shift. Yet, for 61 years Crestfield has remained a constant, sacred place for communities of all ages, gender, and locations. Crestfield has worked hard to remain relative to people’s lives, adapting to all these changes while retaining the essence of its traditions. New and innovative programs have been developed that serve not only children and youth but communities that are "young at heart" as well. Crestfield’s programs also serve communities off- site in different counties, cities and states. Through this serving and sending out from Crestfield, more groups are coming to Crestfield. More can be done through Crestfield’s efforts to unite communities. As times change and paradigms shift, see where Crestfield has been, where Crestfield is now and where Crestfield can go with your help.
Rev. Dr. W. James Legge
Campaign Co-Chair
Crestfield is truly some place special. Words can not capture the aura of what takes place in this intentional community to serve all of God’s creation. I can only give you a few glimpses in my fifty year relationship with Crestview/Fairfield that you may catch a sense of what sets it apart. It might be the environment where a value is placed on nature and preserving the pastoral setting where one can retreat from the busy world and have either guided or personal reflections providing a place to renew ones self. It might be the opportunities of staff training to help empower young adults. It might be the safe place that is provided for children, where people love and care for them. Our goal for this Capital Campaign is to expand this treasure that we call Crestfield so that more people can experience it. My hope is that you will unite with us in our endeavor.
Rev. Dr. Daniel B. Merry
Campaign Co-Chair
It is such a joy and honor to be co- chairperson of the Uniting Communities – To Renew – To Build – To Empower Campaign. I truly believe that the Crestfield Camp and Conference Center is the one place where Presbyterians are united in Christ regardless of theological differences. In a time when there seems to be much that divides us, it is nice to have a place that gives us reason to be in fellowship and communion together...Crestfield is such a place.
Crestfield is a very special place to me and my family ... many wonderful memories have been created here and numerous dear friendships have been formed. I agree with a statement that I have heard numerous times that has called Crestfield “the jewel of the Presbytery.” I am excited about uniting together with you to move the ministry and mission of Crestfield forward. |
