Elementary Programs

 

Elementary Resident – This is camp – Crestfield style!  In these six day sessions, elementary campers will experience the traditional activities that camp has to offer – all in the intentional Christian community of Crestfield.  Canoeing, archery, swimming, crafts, climbing wall and more are intertwined with Bible study and worship to nurture these campers in their relationship with Christ.

Lights, Camera, Action! Drama Camp - If you have always wanted to be on stage. . . or think you
might want to, then this camp is for you. Build skills for the stage, and for life . . . while having fun and experience favorite Crestfield activities. Develop confidence and imagination through Improvisation, Characterization, Movement, Makeup, & Performance. There will be a performance on the closing day

of camp for campers, friends and family. Minimum of 6 campers required.

Saddle Up Horse Camp -- If you are a horse lover, this camp is for YOU! Campers will travel to Slippery Rock University’s Equestrian Center for 4 afternoons of horse interaction. Campers will learn safety around horses
and how to care for, groom and saddle horses as well as learn riding skills in an arena. Aside from horse encounters, the horse campers will get to enjoy other Crestfield activities as well, such as participation in worship and Bible Study, archery, building teamwork on the Team Challenge Course, canoeing and much, much more. This camp is limited to 10 campers and no prior horse experience is needed.

Genesis Camp (First-Timers) – For those who have never been to camp before, Genesis is a shortened week of camp that compressed the thrills of Crestfield four days.  The program is offered to encourage younger campers to experience intentional Christian community that is built upon worship, growth, and fun!

Ages: Grades 2 - 5  (completed)

Mini Camp  - Or “One Last Time before School!” Mini-Camp is a three day camp that provides an opportunity for first timers or experienced campers to come to Crestfield and experience intentional Christian community before heading back to school. This camp is offered to children who have completed 1st grade and may want to try camp.


Dates: August 16-18
Registration begins at 3:00 pm on Monday
Closing worship is at 6:30 pm on Wednesday

Ages: Grades 1 – 3 (completed)

Elementary Pioneer -- Offered for the first time to elementary aged youth! Participants experience the beauty of God’s creation as they live in the outdoors for these few days. For those who want to try a more rustic camp experience, this shortened camp will introduce you to Pioneer camp. Campers will live in teepees, learn to cook over a campfire, and explore the beauty of living in the outdoors.


Dates: August 16-18
Arrive Monday at 3:00pm for registration
Closing Worship is at 6:30 pm on Wednesday

Middle School Programs

 

Teen Resident – This program is geared specifically for the unique needs of our teenagers. In the context of spiritual growth and disciple making, Teen Resident offers camp activities, worship and Bible study tailored to an age group desiring to experience a camp that is relevant to their own faith journey. Teen Resident camp
includes the high ropes challenge course and zip line and an afternoon off-site trip to Moraine State Park!

Night Owl - Does the phrase “Early to bed, Early to rise” NOT apply to you? If so, Night Owl is just for you!
Enjoying an altered schedule as you experience camp at night, Night Owlers will spend the week
in the teepees at Pioneer, cook their meals over the fire, and wake up late and go to bed late. Come experience the majesty of God in the nighttime at Crestfield. Night Owl camp includes the high ropes challenge course and zip line and an afternoon off-site trip to Moraine State Park!

Senior High Programs

14 Day Teen Resident -- Be part of the first ever two week camp at Crestfield. Do you ever just wish you didn’t have to go home at the end of the camp week? If you come to this camp, you won’t have to – you stay through the weekend and the whole next week as well. Campers will have extra time to enjoy favorite Crestfield activities and spend time off-site for day trips . Campers will have home base in the cabins, but will spend
the weekend out at Pioneer Camp sleeping and cooking under the stars. This camp is for those who wish to explore their faith more deeply and combine worship and study and adventure for a fabulous experience.

Leaders in Training - Striving for more than just a fun time at camp? Looking to improve your leadership
skills? Then Crestfield’s LIT program is for you. Throughout the week, participants will not only learn about
teamwork, problem solving and servanthood through discipleship, but will also have an opportunity to put these skills into practice. LIT camp includes the high ropes challenge course and zip line and an afternoon

off-site trip to Moraine State Park!

Counselors in Training – Focusing on disciple making in the outdoor setting, the CIT program is designed to introduce participants to the basics of counseling and ministering at Crestfield.  Leadership development will be a vital element of programming throughout the week.  CIT camp includes the high ropes challenge course

Intergenerational Programs

 

Little Ones and Loved Ones - This camp promises to be the most meaningful 4 days and 3 nights that you’ll spend with your child all year long! Parents, Grandparents, or relatives and their children will grow in God’s Word as together they explore the Bible, enjoy the beauty of Crestfield and experience all the fun that
camp has to offer. Participants stay in comfortable Scott Lodge. This is a great opportunity to have an older child attend First Timers and you be on the grounds with a younger child! Be sure to register early –
space is limited. Little Ones are defined as 3-7 year olds.


Dates: July 6-9
Registration begins Tuesday at 3:00 pm.
Closing worship is at 2:00 pm on Friday

Canadian Canoeing -- Travel with us to the Canadian Algonquin Wilderness for mostly flat water canoeing, some not so flat, beautiful scenery, fairly simple portages (moving equipment and canoes from lake to lake) and somewhat rare wildlife. Yes, this is a “roughing it” test and adventure. Feel your pioneer heritage! You will
carry backpacks, water bottles, canoes, and all other necessities. Enjoy camping and sleeping in your tent
under the thousands of stars. The evening campsites are private, restful and large. We will bring camping
gadgets...you bring yourself, your gear and a will to “rough it” for the week! We’ll return to Crestfield
early Sunday morning August 1st. This camp is led by the Rev. Henk Bossers, pastor of Cheswick Presbyterian Church. Henk has led this camp for many years and is looking forward to helping you enjoy
this adventure!

Grandparents and Grandkids: A Grand Time! -- Grandparents, come to Crestfield for a memorable
time with your school aged grandchildren! Enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of camp while strengthening
your bonds with your grandchildren. This vacation will provide opportunities to create, study, worship,
hike, swim, canoe, fish and of course, enjoy a campfire! Participate in activities together and apart for
relaxation, renewal and rejuvenation.

Specialty Programs

 

Quilt Camp -- Are you an accomplished quilter? Or one who is looking to learn to quilt? Join us in beautiful Scott Lodge for a week of fun filled quilting and no meal preparation or clean up. You can bring your own projects and join in on group projects. You will also have the option of participating in the usual camp
activities such as swimming and hiking as well as a day of quilt shop hopping. Of course there will be a daily Bible study and lots of laughs. You don’t want to miss this week of fellowship, sharing and quilting.

Special Needs Camp – This camp is designed primarily for youth and young adults with Down syndrome or other significant cognitive disabilities. The camper needs to be able to complete daily living tasks with little or no assistance from staff. In the context of Presbyterian camping, this program allows participants to experience the community of Crestfield in a safe and nurturing environment. New this year campers will travel to Slippery Rock University’s Storm Harbor Equestrian Center for an afternoon with horses! This camp is an incredible experience. Spaces are limited. Check in begins at 3:00 pm on Tuesday and camp ends with closing worship on Friday at 2:00 pm.

Diabetes Camp at Crestfield – Sponsored by the American Diabetes Association, Crestfield partners with the ADA to offer Diabetes Camp.  Filled with outdoor adventure, diabetes education, and an entire community of youth with diabetes, this camp is spectacular.  An experienced team of physicians and nurses are on call around the clock to ensure the health of campers.  Registration for this camp is done through the ADA.  For more information, contact the ADA at 1-800-676-4065.

Mission Possible – Designed for youth groups, Mission Possible allows your youth group the opportunity for mission in both urban and rural settings. After a day of team building, preparation and mission work at
Crestfield, participants will travel to different sites to work and catch a glimpse of the domestic mission
field. Even more, we offer a day of fun and recreation, including an afternoon at Moraine State Park to experience Christ through adventure. See our separate brochure or call for more information.
