Dancing Swords
This retreat is for all from never touched a needle and thread to professional quilter. If you love to be in fellowship, study and worship with friends in Christ and want the opportunity to quilt, quilt some more, and then quilt even more, then this weekend is for you!
Brenda Barnes returns as our retreat leader and teacher.
Cost: Two nights lodging: $100/person for double occupancy in Scott Lodge; One night lodging option available for $65 in Scott Lodge. Single and triple occupancy rates available. Call for details. In addition to the lodging and meal cost, there is a $5.00 cost for the project pattern. You bring your own fabric and machine and supplies. A supplies list is available on-line.

Quilt Project: Dancing Swords. The project teaches proper rotary cutting technique and ruler use. You can easily make a table runner or a small quilt in the weekend. Once you get the "hang" of making the block, the project goes along very quickly, even if hand sewing.
If you don’t know how to quilt, don’t worry! Brenda will teach us!!
If you chose you can bring your own project to work on.
What to expect: Bible Study, worship, sewing, Crestfield activities like hayrides, s'mores, low ropes challenge course, and walking, fellowship, and a quilting project will be a part of this fun-packed weekend!
This retreat will be led by Rev. Brenda Barnes. Brenda is married to Don with "dog kids" Nixon and Jackson. She is the pastor at Crooked Creek and Faith Presbyterian Churches in Kiski Presbytery. Brenda has led numerous family, women's and church retreats throughout Western Pennsylvania. She caught the quilting bug looking for a fun past-time and hasn't stopped since! Brenda led our September retreat and received high praise!
When: Friday - Sunday, November 20-22, 2009. One night only option also available.
Arrive Friday after 4:00 pm and stay until Sunday after worship and brunch. Dinner will be served Friday night at 6:30 pm.
