A Retreat For Older Adults

Tuesday-Thursday

May 4-6, 2010

At the Potter's House

Jeremiah 18: 1-4

1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD : 2 "Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message." 3 So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

God continues to shape us throughout our aging years.  Come and join us as we spend time studying the many scriptures we find in the Bible about potters and clay. Meet a potter and learn how precious these scriptures are when we consider how God molds and changes us throughout life, taking our flaws and working with us to make us more like God.

Spend time in Crestfield's beautiful spring setting in worship, fellowship and hands-on mission projects  for men and women, which will include gardening, painting, sewing, repairing, building bat boxes and more.

Mission Workshops will include:
Beginning a prayer shawl ministry
Collecting coupons for military families
Creating bears for children in Children and Youth Services

This retreat is for older adults -- how do we define older adults? 55+? 60+ You decide! Age isn't really important -- what matters is your desire to participate in mission projects, Bible Study, fellowship and retreat! If this sounds like you, then you should come!

Retreat leaders are Rev. Dr. Cynthia McClung and Elder Linda Pokrajac.

Cynthia is the Pastor at Hoboken Presbyterian Church and she is also the Chaplain at Friendship Village of South Hills. Linda has a Master of  Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and is a Commissioned Lay Pastor. She is the Director of Senior Adult Ministry at Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church.

We will begin at 10:30am Tuesday, and end after lunch on Thursday.

Transportation will be provided from central locations for an additional fee of $20 per person.
