Famine & Mission Retreat
February 24-26, 2012 & March 2-4, 2012
We had such a great retreat in 2011 that we have
scheduled 2 Famine Retreats in 2012! Pick the weekend that is best for
your group. Space is limited, so register early!
Participants of the 2011 retreat collected 1,556 lbs of food for our local food pantries!
An opportunity for youth groups of the Pittsburgh Presbytery to gather, pray, reflect, serve, go without, worship, play, question, wrestle with realities and make a difference...
Begin your fast at 12:00 noon on the Friday of the retreat. Arrive at Crestfield at 7:00 pm
that evening for a weekend of laughing, praying, singing, worshipping, working and fasting. We will break the fast with a light supper on Saturday night. Stay over Saturday for more fun and games. We will end on Sunday
morning with breakfast.

Registration takes two steps:
Chaperones and Adult Leader Ratios
Unlike our summer program, this retreat is run
Conference Style. This means that rather than registering as
individuals (as you would for our summer camp programs), participants
register as a church. Each church is responsible for providing their
own chaperones. We ask that you have at least one adult advisor per
eight youth of the same gender.
If you do need to "rent a chaperone" in order to have a male/female chaperone please contact Will DeLair. Typically the "rented chaperone" is a counselor from our summer program. Crestfield cannot guarentee that a chaperone will be available.
Please note: The role of the rented chaperone is
strictly for sleep times so that children/youth are not left unattended
in their lodging. During the daytime program hours the rented chaperone
will not be present with your group. A small fee is included for the
service.
Healthcare
Participant healthcare is the responsibility of the
chaperones. There MAY be a nurse for consultation but the expectation
is that each group handles medications and first aid needs internally
and independently within the group. Therefore, it is essential that
they have a health form for each attendee.
Any questions? Please email Will DeLair or call 724-794-4022.
